Introduction to organizational units
In the course of a process, individual functions in your source system are executed by one or more processors. In PPM, the processors of each process instance function are identified, displayed in the EPC of the process instance, and included in the calculation of measures, such as the number of processors.
It can be useful not to display the names of the processors involved in executing a function, for example, for data protection reasons. To hide the names of employees, it is recommended that you create organizational units and assign all processors to these organizational units before importing data. Processors you do not want to assign to a specific organizational unit can be automatically assigned to one of your organizational units.
You can assign each organizational unit a cost rate, which is included in measure calculation.
If you want to prevent specific processors from being included in the measure calculation, you can assign them to an organizational unit and exclude this organizational unit from measure calculation. For example, this is the case when processors perform batch processing functions (so-called batch users).
