Introduction to favorites

You can create favorites of queries that you use frequently and call them up again at a later time.

A favorite does not save the specific values of a query, but the configuration data of an analysis as well as favorites settings.

Configuration data includes:

  • Process types or functions

  • Measures

  • Dimensions

  • Filter

  • View

  • Formatting of the individual views

Favorites settings include:

  • Name of favorite

  • Description

  • Template content (template favorite)

You can create templates with specific settings and use them as a basis for new favorites.

When you call a favorite, the current data in the PPM database is processed based on the saved parameters and displayed in the analysis area of the relevant analysis realm.

You can create folders to manage your favorites. You can move, copy, rename, or delete your folders and favorites, and edit the contents of your favorites.

You can also make your favorites available to other users as copies or release them as Shared favorites for other users.

In addition, you can export favorites as an XML file or import them.

You can also export the configuration data record of a favorite to an XML file as a query and then import it again.

You can accelerate the execution of your favorites and configure the favorites cache.
