Use the Process Mining configurator start page

On the start page, you can create a new Process Mining project, or you can open the Manage projects page to manage your existing Process Mining projects.

A Process Mining project contains the configuration based on the uploaded process data. The process data itself is stored in the PPM database and is not part of the project configuration.

Warning

If you reload the browser page while creating your configuration (for example, by pressing F5), the Create new project page opens and your current project remains in the status Incomplete. You can no longer edit this project. You can only delete it on the Manage project page and you must create a new project.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. To open the start page from any page of the Process Mining configurator, click the ARIS Process Mining logo on the program bar.

  2. Click Start new project on the start page to create a Process Mining project.

    The project configuration wizard opens.

  3. Enter a unique and valid project name on the wizard start page.

    Below you will find details on the project name restrictions.

  4. Click OK.

    The Upload the process data page opens.

    If the specified project name is not unique in this client, that is, if you have entered a name of an existing project or an invalid project name, an error message is displayed and the dialog remains open until you enter a suitable project name.

Your Process Mining project is created and it is now available on the

project overview page.

To open the project overview page, click Manage your projects.

Project name restrictions

A valid project name must meet the following conditions:

  • Must not consist entirely of white space.

  • Must not contain ISO control characters.

  • Must not contain special characters with Unicode code points upwards of 65.536, which do not correspond to a single UTF-16 character.

  • Must not contain characters forbidden in PPM process type names, such as the process tree path separator (‘\’) or curly braces. This makes it possible to name the unique corresponding process type exactly like the project.

  • May consist of a maximum of 100 characters.

  • Surrounding spaces will automatically be removed.
