Object and object type

An object is the graphic representation of statuses, activities, organizational elements, etc. in a .

A model is the graphic representation of a process, an organizational structure, etc. using objects and connections. Each model is assigned to a model type. Model types characterize the type of models. The event-driven process chain (EPC) model type is available in PPM. It is used for the graphic representation of process instances.

Each object is assigned to an object type. Object types characterize the types of objects. In PPM, the event, function, organizational unit, and rule object types are available.

Objects are linked to each another by connections. For each object type, the connection types by which it can be linked to other object types are defined.
