Organizational unit
An organizational unit corresponds to the group of employees in the company which executes a function as part of a process.
Each function that is displayed in a process instance is executed by one or more processors. These processors are displayed in the EPC of the process instance in the form of organizational units and are included in the calculation of measures, such as the number of processors.
For several reasons, it is useful to assign all processors to organizational units. Reasons include data protection considerations, so that the names of the actual employees are not displayed. It is also important to exclude processors from measure calculation. To do so, assign all processors that are not to be included in the calculation of measures to an organizational unit and exclude them from the calculation. For example, such processors include the batch users who perform batch processing functions.
