How to convert Cross analytics queries to process instance tables

You can display a process instance table for a Cross analytics query. The criteria from the Cross analytics query are adjusted to the process analysis requirements, and the relevant process instance table opens in the process analysis.

The process instance table is derived from the Cross analytics query as follows.

  • All process-related measures are transferred. If a process measure is not available, the Number of processes measure is used.

  • All process-related iterations and filters are transferred. Result filters are not transferred because the process instance table does not support result filters.

  • The filter specified in the configuration of the analysis realm is applied as a process type filter.

  • Filters are added based on the association criteria implicitly used in the original query. The filters applied to the association criteria ensure that only those process instances are selected that correspond to the result of the Cross analytics query.

The process instance tables displays only those dimensions and measures as columns that were queried in the original query as dimensions or measures based on the process table of the analysis realm. Since in process analysis process access and data access privileges are handled differently than in Data analytics, there may be differences in the result displayed. It is also possible that no results at all are displayed if you do not have the required process access or data acces privileges.

Please note that the filters of the process instance list query are specified only once when the query is transferred to the process analysis. If a filter had applied to a process criterion in the original query, this filter can be changed or removed after you switched to process analysis. However, if you had changed the filter before the switch the result would be different. The reason for this are filters applying to the association criteria that list only values that still existed when you switched after application of all filters (that is, including the process data filters).
