What are ABC movement analyses?

You can use ABC movement analyses to represent the different assignments of individual dimension values in a dynamic ABC classification to the three segments of an ABC classification over time. For example, you can see that a customer is classified as an A customer in the current quarter, but was well below the B-C limit in the previous quarter and was therefore classified as a C customer.

The measure, with regard to which the dimension values are classified, is plotted on the y-axis. Time is plotted on the x-axis. Each line in the chart represents a dimension value. In addition, two lines for the A-B limit and the B-C limit are displayed. You can see how a dimension value moves over time with regard to the classification limits.

If you have classified the Time dimension with regard to a measure as an ABC classification, the lines for the limits are shown as columns.
