Set ad hoc filter for text dimensions
You can use various display types to easily set your ad hoc filter for text dimensions.
The values of one-level text dimensions are displayed as a list and those for multi-level text dimensions as a tree.
List view
In the list, click the values by which you want to filter.
The filter values are included in the query and marked in the list.
Tree view
To display a subordinate level of a filter criterion, click
Expand.For each level, select the values by which you want to filter by clicking the corresponding boxes.
Compact view
Only one level of a filter criterion is ever displayed in the compact view. The name of the level of the filter criterion displayed is displayed next to the (
) symbol.
Each box in the compact view corresponds to a dimension value.
To select the filter level for which you want to set filter values, click the name of the level displayed.
A list of available levels of the filter criterion is displayed.
Select a level of the filter criterion.
The selected level is displayed in the compact view.
Select the values by which you want to filter by clicking the corresponding boxes.
Your settings are applied directly to your current analysis.
Tip
You can activate multiple individual entries by holding down the Ctrl key when selecting.
Holding down the Shift key and selecting two entries activates them and all entries between them.
Holding down the Alt key when selecting activates just one entry and deactivates all the others.
You can display the pop-up menu for further filter criterion settings by clicking
Display menu.
