Introduction to filters
You can define filters for measures and dimensions. Each filter describes a specific value range of a dimension or measure.
If you set filters for measures or dimensions, only the process instances contained in the PPM database that match your filter settings will be included in the measure calculation for your analysis. For the Process type dimension, you automatically set a filter when you select a process type group, a process type, or a function in the process tree.
Settings bar
You can use the Settings bar to set custom filters for your analyses.
In addition, you can set result filters for the calculated measures. Result filters do not limit the number of process instances that are included in the measure calculation, but they do limit the number of data points that are shown in the analysis. Only data points that match the result filter you set will be shown.
Tip
You can also use filters when aggregating and deleting process instances in order to consider only specific process instances.
For queries of favorites, you can also activate an additional filter query that is displayed when you call a favorite.
Filter bar
The Filter bar enables you to quickly and conveniently set ad hoc filters for your current analysis. You can display all filter criteria currently set.
Filters set in the Filter bar are automatically transferred to the Settings bar for each individual panel.
Filters set in the Settings bar are only automatically transferred to the Filter bar if the same filter criteria are selected.
Interactive filters
In multi-panel analyses, you can interactively filter the analysis views displayed by selecting individual analysis elements in a panel as filter criteria for the multi-panel analysis.
