Display thresholds for measures

You can display critical measure values in your chart or table by specifying thresholds for these measures and emphasize them graphically.

Thresholds are user-defined comparison values of measures that you can set in addition to planned values, depending on the type of analysis view. Depending on the type of your chart, the thresholds are displayed as a horizontal line or a shaded area in the chart background. In your table, the cells of the corresponding measures are accordingly colored, as well.

In threshold definitions, you can only use favorites from analysis realms you have access privileges for. If you do not have these access privileges, the favorite will not return any results.

  1. Open an analysis.

  2. Display the Base tab bar.

  3. Click button_properties Display options.

  4. Activate the Thresholds page of the measure for which you want to set a threshold.

  5. Specify your settings.

  6. Click OK.

The set thresholds are displayed in your chart or table.

If several measures are set in a chart you need to specify the measure whose thresholds are to be displayed with a higher priority.

Tip

  • For improved differentiation, you can rename the displayed thresholds. To do so, click the name of a threshold and enter a new name. Default names are Step 1, Step 2, etc.

  • If you simultaneously display thresholds and planned values in your analysis, you can specify whether you want to display thresholds or planned values if their values overlap. In the Priority selection box, choose whether you prefer to display Thresholds before planned values or Planned values before thresholds.
