Configure favorites cache

You can configure the favorites Cache in such a way that frequently called favorites are calculated and the results transferred in the cache. You can exlude rarely used favorites to avoid re-calculation after data changes and thus save resources for your PPM system. In each favorites cache calculation, the time for all favorites that do not need to be calculated is saved and thus the data import in PPM is significantly accelerated, for example.

You can configure the favorites cache for a favorites folder or for individual favorites.

Prerequisite

You have the Favorites cache configuration function privilege.

You have the access privilege required for the analysis realm of the favorite used.

Procedure. Procedure

  1. Click PPM > Administration.

  2. Administration opens on a separate tab.

  3. Click Favorites cache in the Administration bar.

    The editor window for configuring the favorites cache is displayed.

  4. Display the Base tab bar.

  5. Configure the cache calculation for a favorites folder or for individual favorites.

    Favorites folder

    1. In the navigation tree, select a folder for whose favorites you want to configure the cache.

      Click button configure fav_cache Configure favorites cache.

      Specify your settings.

      Individual favorites

    2. Select one or more favorites.

      Click Calculate favorite Calculate or Do not calculate favorites Do not calculate.

Your settings are saved in the PPM database.

Not calculated favorites, that is, favorites that have not been included in the favorites cache are not activated in the Calculated column of the table Favorites.
