What is the "system" user?
With the installation of PPM, the virtual user system with the password manager is created by default in User Management. The system user has comprehensive administration privileges in User Management. This user can create and delete users and assign function and license privileges to other users. The system users mainly serves administration purposes in PPM. In PPM, the system user has all privileges and cannot be deleted. With the system ID, each user can log in to PPM and assign all privileges. To ensure that only authorized users are able to log in with this ID, we recommend that you change the password after installation.
For the system user to be able to log in to PPM, the system user must be assigned the PPM user privilege in User Management. If the PPM user privilege was withdrawn from this user in User Management, this user can no longer log in to PPM. This means that there would be no user with comprehensive privileges in PPM. To create more users with all access privileges in PPM, the alternative function privilege System administration is available. The System administration privilege can be assigned to any user and comprises all privileges of the system user, including special privileges, data access privileges, and process access privileges.
